Sports, any game
Printable tournament brackets
A blank bracket for any tournament, from a 3 team cornhole night to a 64 team field: single elimination, double elimination or a round robin, on one page with every game numbered. Type your teams and they print on it.
Single elimination
3 to 32 teams and 64
Lose once and you're out. The quickest tournament: one game fewer than there are teams. Byes go to the top seeds when the field doesn't fill the bracket.
Double elimination
3 to 16 teams
Out after two losses. A first loss drops a team to the losers' bracket; its champion meets the winners' champion in the final, and plays again if it wins.
Round robin
3 to 16 teams
Everyone plays everyone once, round by round, and the standings decide. The fairest format for a league night, a pool play stage or a pickleball ladder.
Which format?
Short on time: single elimination
The fewest games: one less than the number of teams, so 8 teams finish in 7 games and 3 rounds. One bad game ends a team's day, which makes it quick and tense. Byes go to the top seeds when the teams don't make a power of two (4, 8, 16, 32).
A second chance: double elimination
Twice the games, near enough (14 or 15 for 8 teams), and every team plays at least twice. The usual choice for softball, cornhole, darts and esports weekends, where nobody wants to travel for one game.
Everyone plays everyone: round robin
The most games (28 for 8 teams) and the fairest table: the standings decide, not one result. Good for a league, pickleball or a pool stage, often with the top teams going on to a bracket.
